Video Guidelines
Camera Settings
1920 x 1080, 24 (or 23.976) FPS
Horizontal video is the most versatile, however if you’re shooting video and/or b-roll for IGTV and IGTV only, vertical is ideal.
Best practices
The easiest footage to make look great is well-lit, smooth/stable, and focused.
vlog Shot List
special event Vlog:
Overall, special events should include a shot with audio of you describing the event, the purpose of the event, and why you’re excited to be there. For speaking engagements, the meat of the video will normally be the captured video+audio of you speaking (this can normally be given to you by the event organizers).
To pace-up the video, add interest, and hook people early, you’ll need to capture some of the following b-roll:
Travel Footage
Driving
Flying
Shots of Venue Empty and/or Full
Back-Stage and/or Greenroom Preparations
Signage and applicable print materials
Crowd Footage
Taking Notes
People Listening/laughing
People clapping when speaker enters + exits
